I’ve had a crafty Halloween weekend.

I spent most of Friday and Saturday making pumpkin cheesecake Oreo treats:

And my Tetris costume:

I’m not sure what Doug was. A high school student at a jazz band concert? One of those guys who moves props between scenes in a play? Just some dude lint-rolling cat hair off his pants?

Doug always insists that Halloween is his favorite holiday, but I have yet to see him dress up beyond wearing a mask that he takes off within five seconds of arriving at a party.

Case in point, Halloween 2008:

Interesting night last night. After the first party ended we all walked over to another party at a house with a life-sized paper mache dragon in the front yard. The place was packed, I’m talking hundreds of people and their costumes. The kitchen was a dance floor, people were spilling drinks and breaking shit, women were getting groped, strangers were making out, a group of guys dressed as Batman, a lady bug, a snowman, and Pooh Bear were singing Bohemian Rhapsody around a bonfire, and nobody knew whose house or party it actually was. It kind of felt like the college experience I never really had.

Oh, and in honor of Halloween weekend I did the scariest thing ever. I went to the optometrist and suffered through one of those tests where you rest your chin on that ledge and wait for them to puff air into your eyes. Can we all agree there’s nothing spookier than that?
