Doug: I don’t know, I never looked at my students. I just did this thing where I pulled my vision out of focus until they all just looked like a blur. Made things easier.

Me: I don’t want to.
Doug: Come on. I watched Made of Honor with you.
Me: That was just in the living room; you didn’t have to watch.
Doug: Well, no one has to do anything but die. It’s what we do besides that we’re judged by.

Me: Can you even imagine either of us being with anyone else at this point?
Doug: It is pretty hard to imagine. But given how pliable humans are, it’s also the easiest thing in the world to imagine.
